This Privacy Policy explains what information CliniDeck (“we”, “us”) collects when you use our website at clinideck.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be transparent about what we do collect.
Who we are
CliniDeck is a clinical reference resource for healthcare professionals. The website is operated under the URL https://clinideck.com. For privacy-related questions, contact us at [email protected].
What we collect, and why
Newsletter subscriptions
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address (and optionally your name) so we can send you updates about new deck entries, guideline changes, and clinical tools. We use MailPoet to manage subscriptions. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
Contact form and email
When you contact us by email or through a contact form, we receive whatever information you choose to send (typically your name, email address, and the content of your message). We use this only to respond to you. Please do not send patient-identifiable information.
Comments
If commenting is enabled on a post and you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser user-agent string for spam detection. An anonymized hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to display your profile picture.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically records standard request information — IP address, browser type, referring page, time of request, and similar metadata — for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. These logs are retained for a limited time and then deleted.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies for essential site functionality (e.g., remembering display preferences, login state for editors, anti-spam protection on forms). If you leave a comment, you may be offered the option to save your name and email in cookies for convenience. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings; some site features may not work as expected if you do.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate (e.g., which decks are viewed most often). Where used, analytics data is anonymized and not used to identify individual visitors.
Embedded content from other sites
Articles or pages on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, or interactive elements from other websites). Embedded content from third parties behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website — those services may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction in line with their own privacy policies.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the site — for example our email delivery provider for the newsletter, our hosting company, and spam-prevention services. These providers process data on our behalf under standard data-processing agreements.
We may also disclose information when legally required (for example, in response to a valid subpoena or court order).
How long we keep data
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Comments: indefinitely, so follow-up comments can be approved automatically; you can request deletion at any time.
- Email correspondence: for as long as needed to respond and for reasonable record-keeping.
- Server logs and analytics: for a limited retention window, then aggregated or deleted.
Your rights
If you have an account on this site or have ever subscribed to our newsletter or contacted us, you can request:
- An exported file of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion (“right to be forgotten”) of any personal data we hold, except data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
- Withdrawal of consent for newsletter communications — either through the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Children
CliniDeck is intended for licensed healthcare professionals and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (HTTPS, access controls, regular software updates) to protect the data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with the care we would expect for our own.
Medical disclaimer
CliniDeck is a reference resource and is not a medical service. Using the site does not establish a clinician-patient relationship. Please do not send patient-identifiable health information through our forms or email; if you do, we will delete it on receipt. See our About page for the full clinical disclaimer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the site or applicable law evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the site or by email to subscribers.
