The Prevention and Incidence of Asthma and Mite Allergy (PIAMA) Risk Score provides a method for predicting likelihood of a later asthma diagnosis. The PIAMA Score’s predictive ability depends heavily on prevalence of asthma in the general population.

Advice

The PIAMA Score has moderate predictive success, and low scores seem more accurate at predicting when a child is unlikely to develop asthma.
